Useless company who will damage your personal goods and then they will refuse to pay for the damage or to replace. Poor service and unprofessional. They will overcharge your for their work as well. Look elsewhere.
Terrible company that doesn't care for your belongings. I felt I had to be there the entire time when loading as I didn't feel that the removalists cared to look after my equipment. When I arrived to pick my stuff up from storage, it was obvious everything had just been thrown into the storage hanger. My $3300 TV had the bed on top of it and was crushed. When I enquired, the response was "I hope you have insurance, not our problem". 100% would never recommend this organisation for moving anything at all.
I would like to thank Ross and Harry for the move. My husband had a bad back and he was under stress due to this move and these two guys made it so smooth and easy for us.
It was all done in a timely manner. They were equipped with proper tools. The boys were so helpful and patient that they didn't create hassle and put everything in different rooms.
Strongly recommended!!
I found this mob on google, as had a small job from Ferntree Gully to Hampton. Was booked in for 11 a.m. on the Thursday, and advised I would be charged half-an-hour travel time before the job even started. Frustrating, as that was not specified on their website.
Thursday morning comes. My infant daughter and I drive from Hampton to Ferntree Gully to meet them. At 11.30, I rang the office to find out where the removalists were, only to be told they'd been held up with the previous job, not notified the office and would be there at 1. I was less than impressed, as our house was empty, I'd driven 50 minutes to get there and was not prepared to wait any longer. They offered to reschedule for 9 the next morning. I declined, as was not making the trip during peak hour. Reluctantly agreed to 1 p.m. on the Saturday. By way of apology, I was offered a paltry $5 off the hourly rate. I asked them to waive the dodgy travel fee, given the time I'd wasted making the return trip. Apparently, $5 off was deemed sufficient compensation.
I found another removalist and cancelled their job. Then I got a call from their movers Saturday morning to organise pick up. I told them I'd cancelled it. Communication is clearly not their forte.
Grossly incompetent and unaccountable. Can only imagine how poor the actual moving service is. Would never use them - would be easier to do it myself.
Found them on the findamover.com website. Booked a removal from my Storage unit in Berwick (Victoria) to Noosa (Queensland). Booked a month in advance and paid a deposit to confirm a pick up time for the Wednesday afternoon to arrive on the Friday afternoon, the day of handover of our newly built home. Read reviews online and most were good. Understood they weren't the most expensive and may have a hiccup along the way but nothing like what we endured. The booking and communication via email and phone was good, up until the night before the scheduled move. We planned for them to arrive between 1-3pm on the Wednesday. I organised my dad to come from Ballarat (2 hours away) to help move the last of our stuff from home to the storage unit for them to pick up. Our storage unit was on the second floor so the plan was for us to unload the storage, send it down in the elevator for them to pack the truck. Also wanted to keep an eye on how they packed the truck as we had some fragile and also expensive belongings. On the Tuesday night we received a phone call to say the truck was half an hour away and could we meet them there. I told them know we couldn't meet them until the arranged time and he said but the truck is already in Newcastle. When questioning him what Newcastle had to do with anything he realised he had called the wrong customer but promised our truck was still on track for a 2pm arrival (first lie) . This should have been the first warning that it was going to be a disaster.
Wednesday, the day of the move, 12pm 2 hours before they were supposed to arrive we received a phone call to say the truck was not in Melbourne and they would not be able to pick up our stuff until 9am the following day, which did not work for us as we had flights to catch. We had to organise dad to stay down from Ballarat to meet the truck onsite. We were also told not to worry our stuff would still arrive on time on the Friday afternoon.
8am Thursday, I ring the office to confirm the truck is still on track to arrive at 9am which I am assured will be (2nd lie). 9:30 I receive a phone call from Dad to say they are not there. I phone the office and get told the driver will give me a call. Driver calls, tells me he is stuck in traffic but will be there in 45 mins (3rd lie). 11am, receive phone call from driver to say they are there but there is no one to let them in to the storage yard. I call dad and he says there is someone at the gate but he does not have a truck. He informs us he is the driver but the truck won't be there until 1pm (4th lie). Wants dad to hand over the key to the storage yard and unit and they will pack it all up when the truck gets there. I call the office again to find out what is going on, only to be told there "brand new 2016 truck" has broken down (assuming lie aswell) but will be back on the road today and will be there to do the pick up about 5/6pm. Dad can not wait around this long as he has to get home, so reluctantly hand over the keys, making sure we got ID and contact numbers etc. I call the office at 5pm to confirm the truck is there and get told they are onsite loading up (5th lie). I also get told though due to log book regulations the truck wont be able to make it to drop our stuff off until Saturday morning 11am (6th lie). I tell them that we have no where to stay now and we will be taking a nights accommodation and our meals out of the balance that is still owed, until the stuff arrives, which they agreed too.
Friday I call the office to follow up how its going and that we are still on track for Saturday 11am as we had people coming up from Brisbane on the Saturday to help. We were assured it would be(7th lie). Friday after noon receive a call to inform us our arrival time now would not be until 6pm on Saturday but promised it would be no later (8th lie). We booked out one nights accommodation and were told by the hotel that if we needed another night we had to let them know before 11am Saturday morning as the reception closed Saturday afternoon.
Saturday morning we check out of our hotel and spend the day waiting. 3pm comes around and we receive a phone call from the driver to tell us they would be arriving around 6pm but as it will be dark they are not allowed to unload so they could not drop our stuff off until Sunday morning (9th lie). Again I said we will need to get another nights accommodation and it will come out of the balance, which again they agreed too. I called the office again to complain and was told don't worry we will be looked after and they will arrive between 7am and 8am. Now the hunt for another nights accommodation which was stressful in itself as everywhere suitable was either fully booked, minimum 2 night stay or reception was closed. The only place we could find was $300 a night. We received a phone call later that evening from the driver who said they were still a few hours outside of Queensland (despite being promised they were here at 6pm but could not unload) but don't worry they will be there between 7 and 8. By the end of the phone call they were saying they would be there between 8 and 10. For those of you thinking why didn't we just sleep on the floor of the house, I was not going to make my 6 month pregnant wife and 3 year old daughter sleep on the floor with no blankets or pillows. As it was all we had was the clothes on our back as the rest of our clothes were on the truck
Sunday 8am. Finally the truck arrives. Hooray.. Let the drama begin. The drivers refused to unload until they had been paid in full. After all the stuff around I was not prepared to do this. I said I would give them half now and half when they were finished. They still refused. "Company policy is we don't unload until we have been paid" I opened the truck and started unloading it myself. Told them they could help and get paid, or I'll do it myself and give them nothing. After unloading a few things they closed up the truck and wouldn't let us near it until we paid. Reluctantly I gave in and gave them the left over cash and receipts for the accommodation and meals. They said no we had to pay the full balance of $3000. I called the office and told them we will cover our meals but they are covering the accommodation. I was not going to be out of pocket $500 for accommodation because of their incompetence. They offered me a $300 discount as they had never lied to me. I asked him if he had never lied, how could the truck be stuck in traffic if it was broken down and at the mechanic getting repaired. I told him we would pay $2500 and hung up. We handed over the $2400 we had left and said we had to go to the ATM to get the last $100 but they refused to unload until they had the full amount. I opened the truck and continued to unload it while they stood around watching. Finally they agreed to help, but they couldn't unload the whole load until the had the full payment, by which my wife was on her way to get from the ATM 2 minutes down the road. Turns out these guys that copped my wrath weren't even from Move 4 Cheap but were contractors that were contacted Friday night to do the job, even though I was promised the truck was loaded and on its way. These contractors had to drive from Brisbane on the Friday to Melbourne to load up and back by Sunday morning. That would explain why all our belongings were just thrown in to the truck and quite a few things damaged. If you have taken the time to read this you will understand how stressed we were an would not even contemplate using this company despite any other good reviews you may have read. It was these good reviews that got me suckered in to using them in the first place. It was a nice welcome to the neighbourhood for our new neighbours at 8am with all the commotion.
I booked an interstate move from Sydney with oz cheap removals.
I initially secured the booking for a Saturday, after I paid a deposit was told they don't have drivers available Saturday earliest the can do is the following Tuesday.
It seemed like they did a good job, I even tipped them.
I wasn't until the next day I was able to assess the damage.
I own a delta king storage couch purchased from king furniture.
The guys somehow broke the hydraulics on one of the couch, it opens but doesn't close any more, lost a candlelabra stand, lost some boxes and the navy blankets they use to cover my furniture left dye marks on my white entertainment unit.
Insurance protection for lost or damaged items was included in the the price they quoted me.
I complained to Sant about it, he said the feedback form/jobsheet (As they refer to it as), that I was asked to fill out had an indemnity clause in it which wavers the insurance protection & that the drivers said my couch was already broken before leaving Sydney which is a blatant lie.
I disputed this as the divers
misrepresented the form. He finally agreed to send someone to inspect the couch & pay for the repairs.
Each day we scheduled a time he kept canceling, & on the phone he agrees to send me a copy of the jobsheet I filled out but never does send!
I have lodged a complaint with the fair trading.
Their prices may be affordable but they're are very careless! Save yourself the trouble & choose an Australian company who actually operate lawfully.
A big thank you move 4 cheap for making my move so easy.
The guys were on time and very professional. They were very quick and efficient with the whole move. It took much less time than what I thought.
They also had bubble wrap and blankets along with them to cover fragile items.
I will recommend you guys to my friends and family and will surely use your service again.
After purchasing a new 2 seater couch just down the road from me I had no idea how I was going to get it home, I contacted Move 4 Cheap and they said they offered a $30 service for 1 item within the same suburb! I was so pleased with the price and customer service. The staff were very punctual and has it loaded and moved swiftly and carefully. Highly recommended.
I booked for same day pickup - called at 10 am for 2pm job to move a fridge. He said they could be half hour either side so my partner and I turned up at 1.30. By 2.45 we heard nothing - we phoned and we're told they were held up and would be there in 30/35min yet 45 min later we still hadn't heard, so called again - they said they'd call back in 5min with accurate time. I didn't hear back, so called at 4pm - 2 hours late now - to cancel the booking. He said wait, we're only 35min away, I said no I want to cancel, he spoke to driver and then said wait the driver is 5min away. He wouldn't let me speak so I spoke over him and said I'm cancelling your service and hanging up the phone. Complete time wasters, I'm not sure there is even a service or if it's a joke but I didn't once get an apology so please, choose someone else to do the job because you will get messed around.
I did an interstate move with this company and are very happy with the service.
The company I booked with before cancelled on me the day before they're booked in. So I had to find replacement within 12 hours for an interstate move! The guys at move4cheap were happy to fit us in to a fair price (other companies tried to take advantage of my deperate situation).
They said they'd be there at 6 in the morning. They arrived at 6.32am. Very tidy truck, equippment was all there. Friendly and polite guys. Loaded the truck with the contents of a 4 bdr house in 4 hrs. Then drove straight down to VIC. Called on the way about the arrival time. They told me 7pm at around 3.30. They arrived at 7.04pm!
Unloaded everything within 3 hrs.
I know this is my only review on this side, but I'm definitely not a fake and I'm only giving 4 stars to sort of prove that. They deserve 5.
